The game is being developed by Nikola Kostic, a developer of independent South African games. He is solely responsible for art, design, programming and music for game.In Albert & Otto, the player controls both Albert and his magic rabbit.

In Episode One, Albert can shoot and jump, while Otto can fit through narrow gaps and hold power switches. When Albert is carrying Otto, you can run a double jump, levitate and control electrical currents. These powers are used in various combinations to solve puzzles and fight bosses.

Albert and Otto is a puzzle game of atmospheric 2D platforms developed and published by independent game developers K Bros Games. The game will launch as four separate episodes, with the first episode titled "The Adventure Begins" release on October 28, 2015 for Microsoft Windows and OS X.

 The art style is inspired by early stop-motion films of Tim Burton, with a set in pre-World War II Germany history.
